SATYA: A Prayer for the Enemy
Since China invaded Tibet, more than a million Tibetans have been tortured or executed. This award winning film. made in 1993, indicates the enduring nature of the Tibetan struggle.
Since 1987, Tibetan nuns have fearlessly staged protests for independence, human rights and religious freedom. Countless nuns have been imprisoned for shouting slogans, criticising the Chinese state, or hoisting the Tibetan flag. The treatment they receive is brutal. "People disappear in the night. It is dangerous to tell anyone the truth of our suffering", tells one nun.
