In parts of South Africa, neighbourhood violence is spilling into the classrooms. Children armed with knives and guns are attacking other pupils. Teachers are struggling to cope.
They found 11 year old Dane Darries bleeding to death in the school toilets. Another pupil had stabbed him. "I feel rage at the way Dane died. Where was the school prefect?" questions his mother. At another school, three boys held a student down while two others stabbed him. As one father states: "Safety at school is getting out of hand. Somebody needs to act."
