Loyal Slum
One year after violence hit the streets of Alexandra, the township still seems to be an ANC stronghold. The party that has existed for nearly a century, seems unbeatable now due to its loyal followers.
The ANC has been promising change in Alexandra "home to South-Africa's poorest" for 15 years, with no result. Despite this, there is little movement from the opposition except newly formed COPE; the party hoping to counterweight the ANC. But it seems, to no avail as the Alexandra people remain loyal. "Not many in Alexandra are expected to actually vote for COPE". The ANC symbolise a country overcoming white suppuration, and that alone could carry them.
