Militant Youth

Can South Africa's Youth Be United under Mandela?

Militant Youth Before Mandela's election to office in 1994, the youth of South Africa are divided over its present and its future.
South Africa, 1994. Despite Nelson Mandela's inevitable election to office, the country's black youth is divided. While many are optimistic about the future ANC (African National Congress) government, others are unable to forgive the crimes of the past and strive to defeat the influence of the regime for good. ABC speaks to The Gents, a criminal gang based in Tembisa, members of the PAC (Pan Africanist Congress), whose "enemy is the settler, non-Africans who've colonised their land and seized their government,", and the optimistic youth, in country whose political landscape is on the verge of radical change.
