Waiting for the Colonel

Waiting for the Colonel It wasn't easy to secure an interview with Colonel Muammar Gaddafi. After landing in Tripoli, it took further three days for the date and location of the interview to be finally confirmed.
This short film is a video-diary of the journalist George Negus' wait for the colonel. It shows the sleepy atmosphere of Tripoli in 2010, and a constant air of anxiety shown by Libyan authorities about the presence of a rolling camera. It also shows the ubiquitous presence of Gaddafi gazing down at the city from billboards two years before his death.
