The homecoming of Kosovar refugees
Kosovars return to their homeland after years in a North Macedonian refugee camp.
After years of conflict, it is finally safe enough for Kosovar refugees to return to their homeland. What awaited them, however, were terrible scenes of villages acting as graveyards for their war dead, bodies still protruding from the earth, and houses ransacked by Serbian forces. Not wanting their friends and families to die in disgrace, they set about exhuming the bodies to award them with proper burial rights as a poignant testament to the honour amongst the Albanian Kosovars.
